Our cushions will become their most magnificent selves when filled with our feather inners, ethically sourced in compliance with strict bird welfare measures. The softest quill and unique curvature of duck feathers in our ethical cushion inners are known for their superior comfort. We are absolutely smitten with our fabrics, and we're confident that you'll feel the same way. We use only high quality, luxurious fabrics that are a pleasure to touch and ensure longevity because we believe in the philosophy of "buy once, buy well." Mass-produced and low-cost products wear out quickly and contribute to landfill waste.

In comparison our cushions are designed to provide years of pleasure and comfort. We have four fabric categories including genuine Vintage, Repurposed, Collectors, and Luxury. Vintage fabrics are aged 30 years or older and are carefully checked for strength and longevity. We combine vintage fabric with contemporary colour to create the whimsy and charm of your Grandmother's glory box.

Our Repurposed fabrics have already had a taste of life. They're like hidden gems, often sourced from discontinued or surplus samples, as well as the offcuts of high-end designer lines. The cushions in this category are often one-of-a-kind and crafted in small batches.

Fabrics from the Collectors category are often designer lines that are no longer available as well as interesting textiles that are sourced from fabric collectors . If you were a fan of collecting rubbers in the 80s, this category is sure to pique your interest.

Our Luxury fabrics are imported from design houses across Europe, USA, UK, and Australia and predominantly feature high quality printed linen, cotton and velvet furnishing fabrics in a refreshing array of colour and design styles.

Creative Pattern Placement

Pattern placement is a major deal in our cushion-filled universe and we spend a lot of time in it. Creatively positioning patterns to make the most of the fabric design while minimising wastage is a daily consideration for us. Often the pattern placement can create quite different looks from the same fabric.

This is particularly important for large scale patterns - a cushion front cut from the centre of a pattern may mean that large pieces of the fabric are then wasted, so if one of our cushions is off centre or not symmetrical, it is a decision that has been made with purpose.

Our flower cushions are good examples of differing pattern placement. Every listing has information about the pattern placement and where the placement significantly varies the look of the front, there will be versions offered so you can choose your preferred placement.

We Are Conscious About Sustainability

When we say we sell NZ made sustainable luxury cushions, we mean that we take great care at every point of the process that we can control to make planet-positive decisions. This includes ordering our fabrics very carefully to minimise wastage. We make use of almost every scrap by repurposing leftover strips into handmade piping. And any excess fabric that we don't use is given to sustainable sewers who can utilise it in their own projects. We are committed to reducing waste and promoting sustainability in every step of our production process.

To further contribute our part in reducing the environmental impact of air-freighting fabrics, we have proudly partnered with Te Ara Kākāriki Greenway Canterbury Trust. For every cushion sold, we make an annual contribution to the trust to support their mahi of re-establishing native plantings in Canterbury - our local area.
