design

A new build, a single room, a whole house, a renovation, or boutique commercial – I approach every project with enthusiasm!

You can expect creative design concepts presented to you using samples, fabric, wallpaper cuttings, paint drawdowns and mood boards when needed – to visually communicate how the design concept will translate into the end result.

I will make sure you get the best result and will work with your other professionals and trades, oversee the big picture, keep track of the details and maintain control of quality.

If you’ve got no idea where to start, start by making contact with me. Each project is unique and I can tailor my services to meet your needs, timeframes and budget. We can do as much, or as little together as you like – from the planning stage to the finishing touches and everything in between.

When we decided to build our new home we knew we wanted both the interior and exterior to reflect the beautiful MacKenzie Country, we just had no idea how to go about it! We approached Becky who put together a design concept that not only respects the stunning scenery, but reflects it. Visualising colours and textures is not our strong point so having the mood-board and drawdowns available to glance at as we walked past the fridge every day meant we worked out quickly what we loved and what we wanted to alter. We threw a few curveballs her way and nothing was a problem, everything was handled with efficiency and professionalism. Becky’s flexibility and ability to inject personality into a space means the result has exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t love our home any more.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Becky to anyone!

THE PROCESS

It is important at the start that you have an idea of a budget to complete your project. It doesn’t have to be exact, but you do need to know approximately what you are prepared to spend.

Other things to think about:

  • Help establish your style by collecting images of spaces or items that you absolutely love – take photos, use Pinterest or magazines as sources.
  • Think about colours you like, or dislike.
  • What do you want to achieve with the space; is it somewhere to relax, somewhere for the family to gather, somewhere to hide away from the world, or is it to entertain and impress?

Step 1 Initial Consultation

  • I’ll spend some time getting to know you and what your project involves.

Step 2 Terms of Engagement

  • Now I have a good idea of what you want, I’ll estimate how much work is required and send you a Terms of Engagement letter, including timeframes and an estimate for design charges before we begin working together.

Step 3 Design and Sourcing

  • Next I produce a design concept for your project. I’ll source fabric and wallpaper samples, furniture and accessory ideas and establish a colour palette. All of these tools combined help us communicate and understand the design concept at our next consultation. We can use mood boards to further demonstrate how the concept will come together. An example is below.

Step 4 Approval of Design and Quote

  • Once you have approved the design concept I will gather pricing for the various elements that I can supply you. I can also help co-ordinate suppliers of goods and services, such as electricians, paper hangers, painters etc and can project manage the whole process if you choose.

Step 5 Supply and Installation

  • In the final stage I ensure the supply of goods and services to your project, and make sure the delivery and installation is hassle free and the design concept comes to life!
